Let's Talk About The Elephant In The Room ...

I just wanted to touch base with everyone - a central place with a little more freedom than private messages and Facebook walls. I guess by now we all know it's December and there's still no clear release date for Testing Fate ...

What does that mean?

It means I really don't like being vague. Whenever I'm asked, my standard answer has become "I don't know yet" or "I'm waiting for the go ahead from my editor" or my favorite ... "It's coming soon." I want you all to know that it bothers me to say that - I want nothing more than to say "It's going to be released such and such ... SQUEE!" Unfortunately, life doesn't always work that way no matter how much I ask it sweetly. Believe me, I've tried.

When I first announced the December date, it was with a hopeful heart. I anticipated no hiccups with nothing but smooooooth sailing. *chuckles* Hands up anyone whose life ever goes EXACTLY the way we want it to *looks around* Me neither.

I recently changed editors. It was necessary and what it means is not only is the book subject to my life and priorities, but also hers. What I also didn't take into account was other editing obligations and Christmas. Family always takes precedence ... even in front of Mason, Darcy, and Devlin *chuckles* Thankfully they're not as ornery as Quinn. He wouldn't care and demand I cater to him. Sexy jerk!

So do I have a release date yet? No.
What do I have? Three very strong FACTS

Fact #1 - Testing Fate will be BY FAR the best book in the series to date.
Fact #2 - I have one of the best editors I've ever worked with helping me polish the book. I love having that kind of confidence and Testing Fate with SPARKLE.
Fact #3 - Waiting just a little longer will be a VERY distant memory once you get a copy. A lot happens in the book - things you've been waiting for ... and some that you'll never see coming.

I love you all so much. Thank you for all the support you've not only given me but the series. You've embraced the Mystic Wolves - claimed the characters for your own and it means so much! I promise in the meantime to share teasers, torture you all a little less, and find fun ways to celebrate the series!
Happy swooning everyone!!

Cover Reveal - Forget Me Not

For those of you who know me, one of the things I LOVE doing is teasing everyone. Okay ... you all call it torturing but it's always done with good intentions. Well, I wanted to let you in on another quirk I have -

I also LOVE surprises.

Never on me, though. I'm very impatient and not knowing what's going on is one of the quickest ways to drive me crazy. Nope, I love giving others a surprise - in fact, that was how the Mystic Wolves was published. Do you remember? Everyone went to bed and I was just The Bookish Snob, romance reviewer/blogger. Come morning, I excitedly declared "Woohoo everyone, look what I did. My first every short story Without Mercy is now available. I'm a published author!" That was over a year ago and I've never forgotten the response. Thank you for making this series a best seller.

So, what does that have to do with anything?

Everything because today I have a SURPRISE ...
the EARLY reveal of Forget Me Not's NEW cover!!

Between you and me, I get a little giddy with Mason looking at me like that ...
all swoony, smoldery, and I-want-to-ravish-you-right-here-right-now!

Once again a HUGE thank you to Regina at MaeIDesigns for this amazing cover. She has a natural gift for being able to take the vision of an author and make it real!

For those who haven't read Forget Me Not yet, here's the buy links!
Remember the first book, The Mystic Wolves is FREE

To celebrate this release, I'm have more goodies to give away:

Top Secret Mystic Wolves Project ... Revealed

If you've been on Facebook the past few days, you know I have a secret. Actually, it's a secret project that consists of three sections. In keeping with my Queen of Torture nature, I've been pretty tight lipped about it - a surprise for me because I'm notorious for NOT being able to keep a secret. Somehow I've managed to go almost 3 weeks ... yep, I deserve a medal or something. Maybe a statue. Or a day named after me ... just sayin'.

I've had some fun with it as well. Did you all see these posts?

Hahahaha - yep, I've been laughing all day while peeking out my window for any lynch mobs and impatient readers. What can I say? I like to tease!

So what's the SECRET??

I could continue going on and on and on .... maybe post some more vague and cryptic pictures OR I can just show you. What do you think?

Okay ... here you go ...

The Mystic Wolves series has received a SWOONWORTHY makeover!!

Here is the first cover, designed by the INCREDIBLE

Regina Wamba of MaeIDesign!

She is AMAZING and created me the PERFECT covers!

Take a moment to stroke the screen!!

I am so excited to begin revealing them. When I first released Without Mercy (now included of the first book) it was part of an anthology. It was never meant to become a series so I decided to just have Darcy on the cover. As the series grew and grew, I knew I would need to one day revamp so I could have both Darcy and Mason together so VOILA!!

Isn't he AMAZING??

So this is PART ONE of my reveal. Coming soon is Forget Me Not and Testing Fate's new look - both will look just as HAWT as this one!

Don't FORGET ... this book is FREE

Testing Fate: Opening Paragraph Teaser

Here's a little sneak peek at the opening paragraphs to Testing Fate ...

One moment I was standing in the trial room and next I was gone—surrounded by darkness. My lungs burned and a squeezing sensation filled my chest, robbing me of breath. Just as I was on the verge of passing out, the world burst into an explosion of color and I dropped to my knees struggling for air.

“What the hell just happened?” I gasped, my voice ragged. I focused on controlling my panting. My head pounded without mercy and my body felt like it would keel over. It was the most disturbing feeling I’d ever experienced and I wanted to kill the one who’d inflicted it on me.

“Calm yourself, young one. Take deep, steady breaths. The discomfort will pass if you don’t fight it,” a soft voice whispered in my ear and I followed her instructions. Slowly the dizziness faded, taking the waves of nausea with it, and I was able to stand without the world spinning around me.

“Where are we?” Mason demanded, his voice filled with annoyance. I watched Devlin place a cautionary hand on Mason’s shoulder, warning him his temper wouldn’t be appreciated by the three Fates standing huddled together - watching us. Mason nodded and corrected himself. “I apologize. I’m simply curious why you’ve brought us here.” He bowed his head in deference to the women and his body relaxed into a less threatening stance.

“This once we will forgive you, Alpha of the Mystic Wolves. We understand your concern and need to protect. We felt it was important to remove the necessary parties from your Council’s meeting room and bring you here,” Atropos replied, gesturing to our surroundings.

“And where exactly is here?” Mason asked. He moved to take my hand, his fingers wrapping around mine and squeezed.

Cozy Interview with Buffy Kennedy

We were recently asked over to the home of Buffy Kennedy for an interview! We had a lot of fun, she was a great hostess, and we can't wait to meet up with her again. For those who missed it, we wanted to share!

Standing outside the home of Buffy Kennedy, I turn to the small group behind me.

“Okay, you all need to be on your best behavior!” I pointed to each of them, my finger jutting for extra emphasis. “I know we can be pretty wild sometimes, but let’s try to show we can be quiet and civilized as well.”

Devlin shook his head, and chuckled. “Are you sure you need to be giving us that warning? Aren’t YOU the one that gets a little crazy? Maybe you should wait outside while we go in and dazzle her.”

“I agree. I’m the perfect picture of innocence and reverent behavior,” Daniel added, elbowing his best friend, Mason.

“You’re the biggest offender!” Darcy laughed, and letting go of Mason’s hand, grabbed mine. “Let’s go before we’re late. I wonder what kind of questions she’ll ask?”

“I wonder if she’s cute?”

I joined the rest as we turned to face Daniel. He was wearing a wide grin, not the least bit embarrassed for his comment. Ignoring him, we approached the door, and I raised my hand to knock.

A few moments passed before the curtain of the front window swished to the side, showing a female peering out. Standing close, Devlin’s presence causes my senses to tingle. Even though I’m the author, I’m still affected by the vampire enforcer, and I resist the urge to poke my tongue out at him as he whispers in my ear.

“Don’t be nervous. You’ll be fine. I have complete faith in you.”

I’m stopped from responding, from asking for a good luck kiss, (Hey, it was worth a try) by the opening of the door.

“Come in, come in. Welcome!”

Following our host into her home, Buffy ushers us into a cozy living room where overstuffed couches are arranged so the lighted fireplace is the focal point. The various lamps are dimmed, casting the perfect ambience for an interview.

Wasting no time, Daniel finds himself a seat, and a quick glare from me stops him from placing his feet on the table. Mason and Darcy take the smaller love seat, content in sitting as close as possible, and I blush as the exchange a quick kiss. It’s obvious they’re in love.

Shrugging my shoulders, I take the seat next Devlin and sigh as he places his arm behind me on the head rest.

We look expectantly at Buffy, and the room falls into silence.

“Forgive me if I’m a little nervous. I don’t have guests often, and never have I had any werewolves in the house. I even locked my cats up so as not to bother you, ha.” She says to us all with a smile, as she takes a seat in a rocking chair by the fire place.

“So, I guess I’ll get on with it before I ramble on and bore you to death!”

Addressing me, Buffy asks “So are you a full-time writer?”

“At the moment I am. When I first started writing, I was working full time at a recovery center, but it soon became clear that I wanted to follow my passion and work within the book industry. I’ve been fortunate to have a supportive husband who is fully behind me following my dreams, and it’s been amazing. I love being able to work from home.”

Mason + Chocolate = HEAVEN!

I bet that got your attention, right?

Can you imagine Mason's swoony kisses, heart melting smiles, and eyes that peer into your soul ... DIPPED in chocolate? I know I can, and like the title says, it would be nothing short of HEAVEN.

Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. I know, I know ... I'm a tease, BUT I do have something just as good. Did you all know that Mason was given the honor of having a chocolate recipe named affter him? Yep, and it's delicious!

Rhonda Plumhoff, author of amazing recipe books like Muffin Mayhem and Ladle Full of Love, decided that the sexy Alpha werewolf needed to be represented in her decadent cooking book called Literary Chocolate. What recipe?
